Casa Colombo is a 12 suite Retro-chic hotel that blends a contemporary designer style with the charms of a magnificent 200 year old Moorish mansion.

Built by one of the wealthiest Indian trading families at the time, the mansion is adorned with acres of Italian and Indian mosaic floors, carved arches, molded ceilings and Moorish styled balconies, and is one of the few remaining treasures of its era. A significant part of creating this hotel involved restoring the building back to its former grandeur.

Accommodation

There are 3 categories of suites: 3 Leisure Suites, 8 Corporate Suites and 1 Royal Suite.

Each of its suites are unique as rooms were created from within a house, and therefore, no two suites are alike. Each has its own distinct colour hues, layout and character. Yet all suites offer space and the finest in comfort and conveniences. Suites are 500 sqft (45 Sq mtrs) on average and go up to to 1,000 sq ft (90 sq mtrs) in space. What makes our Suites uniquely different is our very distinct designer style, since every piece of furniture, décor, fabric and lighting has been custom designed by the hotels founder Lalin Jinasena. Contrary to common practice of sourcing furniture from around the world, ours were made to our design in Sri Lanka. Therefore the exclusive style of Casa Colombo can not be seen or found anywhere else in the world.

All suites comes with a 29 inch LCD TV by Nakamitchi, which can be watched from the bed or the living room. A High Fidelity sound system by Nakamitchi and movies on an Apple Ipod are some of the mod cons. A music selector designed by Lalin is also available which plays 6 genres of music from around the world and allows you to set the tunes to your mood. The painstakingly selected music collection ranges from Paris Jazz, to salsa, clubby tunes, to chilled out lounge music.

Though our building is 200 years old, our technology is cutting edge. All rooms are WiFi enabled which is complimentary for guests to use. There is also an intelligent bedside lighting panel that allows you to control your privacy and mood lighting from either side of the Super king size (7ft x 7 ½ ft) bed.

We believe that nothing signifies luxury like Excess. With this in mind, you have a variety of flavors of shampoos, shower gels, body lotions and essences to chose from, including his and hers vanity kits. Corporate suites comes with a double sized bath tub, and our showers have an innovative twist, a secret that will remain for our guests to discover.

For those who wish to switch to work mode, Corporate suites are equipped with its very own business desk, that comes complete with an Apple laptop and fax/photocopy machine.

Restaurants

HVN
The grand hall of the mansion has been converted to this stylish restaurant
with gold carved ceilings, an antique fan that spans 18 feet, organza glass tables and a fresco of rischis meditating in the clouds.
The menu features an eclectic fusion of Fine cuisine with Asian ingredients and flavors. Compiled by New Yorker Chef Alex Stanich, the food and atmosphere is nothing less than heavenly.

T REPUBLIC
Located on the lawn facing the front façade of the mansion, T Republic
specializes in Ceylon Tea. Prepared using a variety of blends and teas from various regions of Sri Lanka, they are presented in traditional Sri Lankan preparations and also in styles from around the world. This is the only way to experience high tea the way the British did, and is the only true café for the Tea enthusiasts in Colombo. It also features a menu of light dishes, salads and snacks.

ZAZA
An outdoor Tapas restaurant, it is surrounded by water and overlooks the magnificent façade of the mansion. Decorated with Egg shaped chairs and cracked glass tables, ZaZa is a relaxed dining experience that brings together Asian and western flavors to create an epicurean dining experience.

ICE3
The chilled out lounge bar, created to resemble chilling within a cube of Ice.
With blue and red neon hues, art deco, and a cement and glass bar make for a scintillating experience. ICE3 features CASA Colombo’s signature cocktail – “CASA Nova”, A white cocktail featuring Toddy, coconut arrack in its purest form.

CHAMPAGNE AND SKY
A very special location at the very top of the building is preserved for the select few who chose to have private rooftop dining.

The Pink Pool

Probably the first Pink Pool in the world, the poolside is a delight for the senses. It has 8 glass sun beds, 3 canopied day beds and chrome elephants wading the shallow pool. This space is exclusively only for in-house guests. The day beds come complete with two music selectors and headphones and a telephone for each.

Spa

Our spa services are carried out in-suite. We offer a range of massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and treatments. We also have a partnership with the Angsana Spa a few blocks away, to which we take our guests for more comprehensive treatments.

Location

Located in Colombo 04, it is in the heart of Colombo’s business district, however as its neatly cosseted away from the busy Galle road by its own cul de sac, it is a gated and very private hotel.

CASA Colombo is a unique approach to hospitality, different in style, in its ethos of customer care and in the attention to detail that has been infused into every element of its property and service. It is exclusive and personal, something most ‘bed factory’ hotels can not be. And most of all, Casa Colombo is an experience that will delight the senses.

Check-in/Check-out Time

Normal Check-in Time is 12.00 noon and Check-Out time is 11.00 a.m. Earlier Check-in Time or later Check-out time could be requested on a case by case basis and the hotel may agree depending on availability.
